Showcase, advance, and strengthen our community history 

By providing a home to historic events and relics housed in our museum for all to see and experience. Research the culturally diverse history of Commerce City.

Preserve and restore historic, architecturally significant buildings

Most recently, the Dottie Bakke House and last two acres of the original 160 acres. The original Land Patent of 12,950 acres was granted to the Kansas Pacific Railroad in 1862. The Derby Settlement was established in 1889 and this house was built in 1892. In October 1898, 160 acres of land was granted to James M Broadwell, a Denver Pioneer (1827-1900). source-GLOrecords.blm.gov
